Melissa has been attending births since January 2004. During that time, she has attended over 60 births. She is passionate about helping others achieve their birthing goals in a quiet, peaceful setting that encourages family bonding and promotes togetherness.

Melissa's personal experience includes the birth of 3 children one in the hospital and two at home in the water with a Midwife. Both experiences were positive and helped her to see the beauty that surrounds birth and the importance of including family.

Melissa's qualifications include being a Childbirth Educator (since June 2003), Certified Breastfeeding Educator (since November 2005), Prenatal Yoga instructor (since April 2005), and an ongoing birth activitist since the birth of her first child in June 2002.

She believes that families together with a professional labor support person can create a positive birth atmosphere whether at home or in the hospital. Melissa also encourages her clients to maintain a positive relationship with their health care provider and birth place and she always provides a gentle presence at the birth. She will help you define your birth goals and take appropriate steps towards achieving that goal whenever possible.
